QUICK FIX! An attempt at reviving the motor might get it working. Try a shot of Radio Shag Contact Cleaner down the two holes atop the motor.
With the battery installed, lightly press down on the lid close switch. Then, at the same time help the motor turn by rotating the brass pully underneath with your index finger and your opposable thumb. It might slowly come back to life!
Then scream in that Dr. Henry Frankenstein voice: Look! It's moving. It's alive. It's alive... It's alive, it's moving, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIVE!
